Quinn defended former Fighting Irish coach Lou Holtz after Day called out his pre-game comments against the Buckeyes.
Quinn was confused at the timing and sudden burst of passion from a typically more reserved Day, saying it was misplaced, in his opinion.
"Where's that emotion after the last two years against Michigan," Quinn said."Did Lou Holtz say anything that wasn't true about those previous losses? There wasn't anything that he said that wasn't true. It was for TV. He's an 86-year-old man. This came off to me as Ryan Day looking bizarre for taking this emotional response after a big win."
Quinn returned fire at Day, wondering why someone outside of the program was more on his mind than his players who were responsible for the hard-fought victory. "Like that's your first words," Quinn said."You don't talk about your team, your players, anything that stood out to you? You had a quarterback you had to name as the starter because of how
