The business associate of missing real estate agent Suzanne Simpson 's husband was released from the Bexar County jail on Friday. James 'Val' Cotter, Brad Simpson 's longtime business partner, posted bail a day after Judge Miguel Najera significantly reduced it from $1 million to $100,000. Bexar County Sheriff's Office officials said he was released at 3:25 p.m. after posting bond. Cotter, who is accused of hiding Brad Simpson 's gun, was arrested on Oct.
The Search for Suzanne Simpson Cotter's bail conditions bar him from possessing firearms or having contact with Brad Simpson, according to a court record shared with the Express-News by state District Judge Ron Rangel, the administrative judge for Bexar County's district courts. Cotter, who is on a GPS monitor, is under house arrest. Other bond conditions also require him to surrender his passport to law enforcement, and submit to drug and alcohol testing.
