Heart of the Beast follows a former Army Special Forces soldier stranded in Alaska after a plane crash. Accompanied only by his dog, he must fight through brutal weather, dangerous wildlife, and his PTSD in order to protect both himself and his retired military dog. Heart of the Beast stars Brad Pitt. J. K. Simmons and Anna Lambe will also be featured in the film in roles that areundisclosed at the time of this article's publication.
The survival thriller will premiere in theaters on September 25, 2026, and is directed by David Ayer and written by Cameron Alexander. Heart of the Beast's trailer first debuted at CinemaCon. The preview showed Pitt’s character and his dog as they struggle to survive in the wilderness after a plane crash. Pitt promises his pet that he’ll find a way to get them both home alive despite the harsh environment they were in.
The first-look also featured scenes of them attempting to cross a river, with the actor falling into the water while trying to save the dog. It also revealed dangerous encounters with wild animals. More to come...
