The German tuner offers three different cabin designs for its Shadow 45 series and two powertrain options
Brabus has debuted its 1,500 hp Shadow 1500 performance yacht. The triple V8-powered vessel hits up to 62 knots or 71 mph on water. Buyers can customize exterior paint, cabin layout, and upholstery. You probably best know Brabus as the brand behind some of the world’s most powerful Mercedes-Benz-based cars, but the company also has a long history of manufacturing some very exclusive boats.
This is the latest, known as the Shadow 1500, and it is premiering at the Cannes Yachting Festival. If you thought road-going creations from Brabus were crazy, this one turns things up to 11. Pure Power On Water Propelling the Shadow 1500 are not one, not two, but three Mercury Racing V8 engines that combine to deliver 1,500 hp. That’s enough power to send the boat through to 62 knots or 115 km/h , which is faster than most boat owners would ever need. Or, at least, that’s what we assume, as we’re not boat owners ourselves. Either way, it’s fast and it’s powerful, just like a Brabus should be. The Shadow 1500 sits at the top of the Brabus Shadow 45 range, which also includes the Shadow 1200. That model looks virtually identical to the 1500 but is instead powered by three 5.7-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engines, each with 400 hp. Buyers can select from three cabin layouts, including one that stretches sleeping capacity from two up to four passengers. It’s a small detail, but it turns the Shadow into something more versatile than a high-speed toy. Dressed To Impress The Shadow 1500 presented in Cannes is finished in an awesome shade of Stealth Green, ensuring it stands out from the white boats and yachts that usually dominate marinas around the world. Its cabin is also trimmed in matching quilted upholstery, but shoppers can choose between several different colors. Additionally, the Stealth Green exterior can be replaced in favor of Black Ops, Stealth Deep Blue, or Stealth Phantom Grey. The list of standard features is mind-bending. Owners get things like dual electric sunroofs, carbon fiber trimmings, a wet bar with a sink, fridge, and optional induction cooktop, sunshades, twin 16-inch displays, a battery monitoring system, and a freshwater system. The Shadow can also be equipped with a Brabus navigation system, which is probably an option most owners will want. There’s also a thumping JL Audio system.
