Riley Bains, a nine-year-old boy from Hartlepool, England, who had his dream of meeting Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds fulfilled in December 2022, has died from osteosarcoma. Bains was diagnosed with the bone cancer in 2023 and had his lower leg amputated. His story touched thousands after his family appealed on BBC Radio Tees to make his dream come true. Hartlepool United will pay tribute to Bains during their game against Tamworth later with a round of applause during the ninth minute.
