Boy, 17, shot in neck on Far South Side
A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after someone shot him in the neck on the Far South Side Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The boy was on the sidewalk on the 1000 block of East 132nd Street in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood around 3:54 p.m. when an vehicle pulled up and an assailant inside fired, hitting him, Chicago police said.He was taken by paramedics in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Chicago Fire Chief Juan Hernandez said.Area 2 detectives are investigating but have made no arrests.
