Bowers & Wilkins has scored gold with these two new premium wireless earbuds with ANC and support for Hi-Re sound. They are the brand's best earbuds yet.
Today Bowers & Wilkins, the classic British audio brand launched two new pairs of wirelessWorld-renowned British loudspeaker brand Bowers & Wilkins has announced the launch of two new pairs of true wireless earbuds . The Pi6 and Pi8 have been completely redesigned for improved comfort and audiophile sound quality. Both models have high-end active noise cancelation and support for Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive codec, offering audio up to 24-bit/96kHz with compatible devices.
The Pi8 earbuds include support for both aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless audio codecs. The wireless technology is backed up with a dedicated DSP, DAC and amplifier from ADI, to deliver Hi-Res certified audio in the best resolution possible over Bluetooth. The Pi6 earbuds are built on the same core platform as the Pi8 and have been designed for comfort. It’s fair to say that previous generations of B+W earbuds were not always so comforable to wear, possibly due to their large size.
Once paired with the host phone, the Pi8 earbuds can access the B+W app’s five-band Advanced EQ function which can be used to fine-tune the sound of the earbuds. For purists who want sound that’s not been processed, there is the option to bypass the EQ at the touch of a button. For users of the Pi6, there are individual bass and treble controls.
The shape of the charging case for both pairs of earbuds has also been redesigned to look slimmer and therefore easier to slip into a pocket. The overall finish and look have been upgraded to be less industrial than earlier versions. As briefly mentioned, the Pi8 has a SmartCase with support for both wireless charging and an innovative Wireless Audio Retransmission technology.
