The upscale Kimpton Santo across from Hemisfair is scheduled to open Thursday, part of a flood of hotels with thousands of rooms slated to be built downtown in coming years. Developed by Indiana -based White Lodging , the 347-room property at 431 S. Alamo St. is the Kimpton brand’s first in San Antonio , its largest in Texas and its second-largest nationwide. The name reflects the origins of the city’s name, with the arrival of a Spa nish expedition on the feast day of St.
