Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma on Thursday announced regulations for level 3 of the national lockdown under which limited inter-provincial travel, the s
ale of alcohol and religious gatherings allowed from June 1.
. Drinking on the premises is banned and no “special events” will be granted one-off liquor licenses.Dlamini-Zuma provided more details on the rules for places of worship from June 1. “This means that we must maintain 1.5m between worshippers with a maximum of 50 congregants, should the chosen venue be able to accommodate such. If the venue is too small for 50 people at 1.5m apart, it means there should be [fewer] congregants at that venue.
Last week, Dlamini-Zuma tabled draft level 3 regulations that proposed lifting the ban on alcohol sales but extending the prohibition on cigarette sales.
