The popular but reductive view of voodoo is that it is used to do harm. Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh have produced a collection based around the more positive aspects oforiginating from Haiti—namely, that it is a unifying force, a way to envision the living world and its spirits as entirely interconnected.
The opening look featured a tank top of red upcycled scoubidou woven into a knit base so that it projected a kind-of plasticky armor. This intricate, dimensional technique would reappear throughout the lineup to even greater degrees of execution—a full warm-up suit, a women’s coordinated top and skirt in turquoise, and a few bag styles.
