Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi says the country recorded an exponential increase in positive Covid-19 cases and fatalities. He delayed the reopening of schools by three weeks.

Rustenburg – Schools in Botswana will not reopen on Tuesday due to an increase in Covid-19 infections.

"We have recorded an exponential increase in positive cases and fatalities, severely straining our fragile healthcare system. "Our nation has attained the highest prevalence ever. Almost all zones have turned white which represents a disease burden above 50 persons per 100 000 cases.“
