LEGO has been around for ages and some how is still popular with its fans both young and old. Part of that is its extensive partnerships with what seems to be every other brand in the galaxy. The collaborations span across Marvel super heroes, 90s sitcoms, and now even Nintendo properties. Though maybe its most successful has been the many toys they’re created, bringing to life the characters and set pieces from Star Wars. LEGO and Star Wars have been making sets together for over 25 years. What started as a small handful of sets and minifigures has grown to a catalogue of over a thousand. It only makes sense that we’ve seen some repeats with slight variations from set to set. The two we’re highlighting now are of the iconic Corellian freighter, the Millennium Falcon, but one has a dark twist to it.This build-and-display model made from 921 pieces depicts the franchise’s most famous starship at just over five inches tall, roughly nine and half inches long, and seven and a half inches deep. It sits at a dynamic angle, giving the impression it is mid-maneuver. Piloted by smuggler Han Solo and his loyal companion Chewbacca, the small stature of the LEGO sets depicts the series’ characters with a just two or three small round pieces stacked on top of each other. This is the ship we all know. But here is a ship you may not. The LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon starship sets depicts a bizzarro version of the Millennium Falcon. Made from black bricks and red accent pieces, this five-inch high, 17-inch long, and 12.5-inch wide starship is made from 1,579 pieces and comes with six minifigures of classic Star Wars characters—though not quite how you remember. Here, the good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys. Meet Darth Jar Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Rey, Beach Luke, and Jedi Vader. This is based on a four-episode animated series from 2024 that reimagines the Star Wars universe upside down with the heroes and villains swapped.8:33 am8:03 am
