Boston College men's hockey team wins 4-1 on Saturday against Merrimack, despite scoreless first period.
The No. 2 Boston College Eagles (13-4-1, 7-3-1 HE) men’s hockey team defeated the Merrimack Warriors (8-11-1, 4-6-1 HE) 4-1 on Saturday night to split the weekend series. The Eagles dominated the game with 31 shots on goal compared to Merrimack 's 11. Although neither team scored in the first period, Boston College found its rhythm in the second, scoring three unanswered goals.
Ryan Leonard, Jake Sondreal, and Brady Berard all scored for the Eagles, while Merrimack's only goal came from Nick Pierre in the third period. Boston College sealed the victory with an empty-net goal by Teddy Stiga.
