The Ibrox medical team are set to assess the 30-year-old after he limped out of the Hibs win.
Crocked Rangers full back Borna Barisic is set to find out today if he will be available for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic.
The Croatian defender was forced off just 12 minutes into the Light Blues 4-0 win over Hibs at Ibrox Stadium as he clutched his left thigh. Barisic was replaced by Ridvan Yilmaz in Philippe Clement’s first game in charge of Rangers but the Turkish star wasn’t included in Michael Beale’s European squad, meaning the Belgian boss faces a problem.
Record Sport understands the Rangers medics will assess Barisic today when the squad report to the Training Centre at Auchenhowie but if the 30-year-old isn’t fit to travel then Clement will have to look at alternative left back options. Although predominantly right backs, Dujon Sterling or younger Adam Devine can fill in on the opposite flank.
Ben Davies could also play in the left back role. The former Liverpool man was on the bench for the win over Hibs on Saturday and last featured in the Europa League, partnering Connor Goldson in the 2-1 defeat to Aris Limassol in Cyprus. Clement said after the win over Hibs: "The downside for me is that I see a player falling out after 10 minutes and I see other players who have struggled to play 90 minutes also. So there are still several players injured or coming back out of injury. So that's going to be also a main task together with the performance staff to get everybody at their best level, their best physical level to produce this kind of games and better every three days.
