Find electric cars are too quiet? Borla has a solution.
. Electric vehicles' silence is at once one of their more pleasurable attributes and frustrating to anyone who demands an audible tell from both outside and inside the vehicle as to what it's doing. Want to combine an EV with some noisemaking capability and save the trees while also quivering their leaves with some music? Borla's Active Performance Sound system aims to please.
Hence, the Borla Active Sound Performance system and is more than just a sound generation device. It fully ties into the vehicle's CANBUS to read the inputs by the driver and vehicle to simulate how an engine would react in those situations. From idle to free-revving while you're at a stop to loading the"engine" while accelerating out of a corner or up a hill, the system generates the noise appropriate for those situations.
The next iteration of the app allows users to custom-tune the sound using an equalizer, effects, and filters—just like what you can find on your infotainment system—and share those customized sounds with friends . Borla also foresees the app"This is just the beginning," said David Borla,"We're really psyched to have the reception to this product during SEMA and the reception to it has been excellent.
