Boris says UK should 'stop being embarrassed of history' as he joins Proms row

The Prime Minister says he was baffled by the decision to perform Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia! without lyrics at the Last Night of the Proms this year.

It has lyrics such as Britons ‘never shall be slaves’ and that ‘while thou shalt flourish great and free, the dread and envy of them all’.
