The Prime Minister also wants full Commons sittings to resume on June 2

The Prime Minister spoke to 100 Tory backbenchers via video call, reportedly telling them that he expects full Commons sittings to resume on June 2. One MP then claimed that the rest of the country is due to be ‘near normal’ the following month.

However, the MP also added that Johnson made it ‘clear’ the relaxing of lockdown restrictions depends on the country ‘meeting the conditions that have been set for tackling the virus’.Visit our live blog for the latest updates:Cabinet ministers have repeatedly stated that the UK must meet five conditions before social-distancing measures can be loosened. These include a sustained drop in the country’s death rate and keeping the reproduction rate of the virus, ‘R’, below one.

He has also pledged not to introduce more austerity measures after lockdown to help pay for the damage it has caused the economy. The current UK restrictions are said to be costing £2,500,000,000 a day. However, it does not appear that the PM will be changing the country’s new ‘Stay Alert’ catchphrase anytime soon, despite it being mocked repeatedly by the public.
