Boris Johnson has finally admitted he had a past meeting with former Soviet Union spy Alexander Lebedev. His son Evgeny, who owns The Independent and Evening Standard newspapers, was given a peerage by Johnson in 2020.

Passengers quoted by the outlet said Mr Johnson could not walk in a straight line and told them he had had a heavy night.Boris Johnson admitting spending the night at Evgeny Lebedev’s house in Italy revealed Mr Johnson had met Alexander during the trip. But this was not confirmed by Mr Johnson, but by a spokesperson for Alexander.
