Borderlands 4 had a great campaign, but after launch, it has an almost non-existent endgame that was not how things should have launched.
But that’s one aspect; the rest is when we move into live service territory. And that? That’s not going well, particularly in regard to an endgame that is close to non-existent.is not a live service, but it has holiday events, weekly resets and a roadmap with five content additions between now and Q1 of next year, including a new character release.

A weekly mission with a single dedicated reward that has not been formatted for this concept at all, forcing players to sit through tons of campaign dialogue that’s pointless. The vending machine gives you two legendaries after you find it in an absurd location.The other problem is not just the current endgame, but the distance between launch and what is actually being added to the endgame later. The first Invincible boss, something that has been standard endgame content, did not launch with the game and will not arrive until probably three months after launch, sometime in December. Pearlescent rarity, an ultra-rare type of loot to farm, will not get here until sometime in Q1 of 2026, with no specified date as of yet.may get Takedowns, the well-liked, quasi-raid missions that we saw inIt’s true that a lot of this was not added until later in past games, but the point is in this age of live services, you want to launch withsimply does not have one. It feels like the game did the bare minimum here, and at best, put enough loot in to farm up cool builds. But there’s no real content to use them in for the most part, and things like UVHM 5 were not thought through very well at all. I doubt that the Invincible boss and Pearlescent rarity will be moved up, but this doesn’t seem like the best plan currently, delaying all this for months and months after release. Maybe when they arrive, things will pick back up. A new character is exciting, for one. But for now? It’s easy to understand why players who
