Borderlands 4 Idolator Sol.
Much like its predecessors, Borderlands 4 is all about the loot, and the best loot almost always comes from bosses. The chaos of Borderlands' FPS combat is bolstered by the chaos of its character builds: although players can determine their skills, passives, and overall loadout, they're at RNG's mercy when it comes to what weapons and gear the game doles out when.
You're basically guaranteed to get some kind of upgrade, though, whenever you face off against a boss. Bosses almost universally drop Legendary gear, the highest tier of gear rarity in Borderlands 4. In case you're wondering what loot is available from each enemy, here's each and every one of their Legendary loot tables, along with some tips and tricks about fighting them. Warden Scathe "Guns Blazing" Warden Scathe is the first boss you face in Borderlands 4, as part of the mission"Guns Blazing." He's technically part of the game's tutorial, and is a little bit of a pushover. Unfortunately, because he's such an early game boss, you can't get any Legendary loot from Warden Scathe. Simply beat him when you're told and move onto the next section of the game. Splashzone "Recruitment Drive" Splashzone is a bandit leader who operates out of Fadefields - specifically, Riptide Grotto. With his giant arm, he's a melee powerhouse - but don't worry, he drops some good Legendary loot for ranged weapon users, too. Horace "Down And Outbound" You'll fight Horace during the third main mission"Down and Outbound," after which you'll also unlock the ability to respec your character. Located in Hungering Plain, Horace summons Synth adds to defend him, while an energy shield keeps him safe from ballistic harm. The Oppressor "A Lot To Process" The Oppressor appears in the main mission"A Lot To Process," and is unique in that it isn't a person, but a giant, flying death machine that rains artillery down on you from the sky. You'll need to make ample use of your ranged weapons to survive. Bio-Bulkhead "One Fell Swoop" Fought during"One Fell Swoop," Bio-Bulkhead is a melee-focused boss who gets right in your face and stays there. You can deal extra damage by hitting it with Locust Canisters, which nullify its damage immunities. Idolator Sol "Rush The Gate" Idolator Sol is fought at the end of"Rush the Gate," marking the first major Timekeeper enemy you're forced to defeat. He's a tough fight with tons of mechanics, including Locust Canisters, adds, and giant AoEs. However, he also has the potential to reward you with tons of Legendary gear. Skyspanner Kratch "Shadow Of The Mountain" Skyspanner Kratch is a giant bat-dragon boss you'll fight as part of"Shadow of the Mountain." Most of this fight revolves around dealing with its movement and minions, which attack you incessantly. Vile Lictor "His Vile Sanctum" As you work your way towards the heart of the Timekeeper conspiracy, you'll face Vile Lictor, another one of its lieutenants, during"His Vile Sanctum" in the Umbral Foundry. Watch for his projectiles and AoEs as you navigate this difficult boss fight. Driller Hole "Unpaid Tab" Driller Hole appears in the Queen's Cradle area of Tonnage Peel, part of the Carcadia Burn region during"Unpaid Tab." He uses Incendiary damage, usually spread over large areas, to keep you running. Callis The Ripper Queen & Moon-Maddened Callis "Her Flaming Vision" & "Another Day, Another Universe" Callis is the final lieutenant you'll fight in Borderlands 4. She shows up during"Her Flaming Vision," at the Moon-Called Throne in Fallen Crown. Later, during"Another Day, Another Universe," you'll fight Callis again, this time as Moon-Maddened Callis: The Timekeeper "The Timekeeper's Order" Finally, you'll face off against the Timekeeper himself in the Terminus District of Dominion. And that's all the Legendary loot we know about - at least for now.
