US Customs and Border Protection agents notched the largest meth seizure in the history of a Southern border port when they seized nearly $12 million in drugs earlier this month.
The record-breaking bust at the Del Rio Port of Entry – valued at $11.9 million – was found inside a tractor-trailer that had an astounding 320 packages with 1,337 pounds of alleged meth inside, the agency said in aThe Sept. 5 discovery at the Del Rio International Bridge unfolded when the tractor-trailer – hauling a shipment of diesel tank reservoir containers – went through a secondary inspection, according to the agency.
