The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that application fees for expedited border-crossing programs such as SENTRI and Global Entry will increase to $120 starting Tuesday, marking the first adjustment since 2008. The agency stated that the change will fund improvements in customer service through technology upgrades, process optimization, and expansion to additional ports along the northern border.

CBP said that the change will enable the agency to “improve customer service through technology improvements, optimized processes, and expansion to additional ports across the northern border.”for three border-crossing programs. Starting Tuesday, the Global Entry fee will rise from $100 to $120, while SENTRI will decrease from $122.50 to $120. The NEXUS program at the U.S.-Canada border will increase from $50 to $120. Enrollment is good for five years.

Global Entry and SENTRI application fees include the registration of one vehicle. The $42 fee to add an additional vehicle after the initial application or renewal process
