Women and girls across the country are now able to relate to players - thanks to Greenwood and other Lionesses
Bootle-born Lioness Alex Greenwood has made history in the last year after a phenomenal 12 months playing for England in the Euros and the World Cup.
Ellie Fox, Football Development Officer at the Liverpool County FA told the ECHO: “One thousand more women and girls are playing football in Liverpool now compared to the season before the Women’s Euros. “Her performance in the Women's World Cup was unbelievable as she stepped up in the absence of the Lionesses’ captain Leah Williamson. She is a fantastic individual on and off the pitch and her achievements show proudly that anything is possible if you work hard and do what you love.”
