Downtown Chagrin Falls will be host to several small goblins as merchants pass out candy on Thursday afternoon.
For the past 17 years, the Chagrin Hardware store has been displaying Halloween decorations throughout their store, including the "Halloween Room".CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -- On Thursday afternoon there will be more than the usual amount of Minions, Charizards, and Ghostbusters in downtown Chagrin Falls, as merchants will pass out candy to costumed kids from 4 to 6 p.m.
Bootique is a very popular event in the historic village as approximately 600 kids in a two-hour span will descend upon North Main Street for their chance to receive a treat from local storefronts. One of the historic storefronts that a Wednesday Adams or a Sonic the Hedgehog should fearfully tread into is Chagrin Hardware which has assembled its Halloween Room for the 17th straight year. One of the owners of the family-run business since 1920 -- Steve Schutts started decorating his store with Frankensteins and pop-up skeletons in honor of his mother who loved Halloween.
Chagrin Hardware staff begins the Halloween makeover in mid-September at the second-oldest hardware store in Ohio -- opening its doors in 1857. The centerpiece of the hardware store’s Halloween decorations is the “Halloween Room” which warns visitors “to enter if you dare”.
