The US-based aviation company is advancing its mission to develop the first independently developed supersonic aircraft in history.

Boom Supersonic, an aviation business based in the US, took on an enormous project to develop the first independently developed

XB-1 program intends to provide the foundation for the design and development of Overture. XB-1 uses cutting-edge technologies to enable effective supersonic flight, including carbon fiber composites, sophisticated avionics, digitally tuned aerodynamics, and an advanced supersonic propulsion system. The firm claims that all test objectives were fulfilled by XB-1, including reaching a height of 7,120 feet and a top speed of 238 knots in a safe and successful manner.‘s retirement, the first flight of XB-1 marks the return of a civil supersonic aircraft to the skies and paves the way for the revival of mainstream supersonic travel,” said the company.

Furthermore, engineers investigated thousands of possible designs for XB-1 using computational fluid dynamics simulations. As a result, the design is tailored to combine efficiency at supersonic speeds with safe and steady operation during takeoff and landing.
