Booker was joined by Senate co-sponsor Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., House Oversight Committee Chair Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., the sponsor of similar legislation, and representatives of several consumer groups, as he pushed lawmakers to curb a practice that last year added $8 billion to the coffers of U.S. banks.
