LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio - The Amherst man accused of driving drunk and hitting a 65-year-old woman and her dog, has a bond hearing in Lorain County Court of Common Pleas Wednesday.Bankston is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Animal rights advocates got petitions signed to have Animal Cruelty charges added to the case. “We just thought it was important for Jess to have that little bit of peace of mind that Ishe’s life mattered,” explained Toni Jones of Friends of Lorain County Dog Kennel. The crash happened at 3:06 p.m. on Dec. 20, 2025 near the intersection of Rome Beauty Drive and North Quarry Road. Officers said Bankston was driving northbound on North Quarry when he struck Paige and her dog, who were walking along the roadway.
