The winds from Tuesday's Bomb Cyclone were damaging and deadly. Two women were killed by falling trees.
A photo of the damage caused during the "bomb cyclone" major storm in Bellevue on Nov. 19 and Nov. 20. A woman in her 50s died in a homeless encampment in the woods in Lynnwood, and a 65-year-old Bellevue woman died in her own home when a tree sliced through the home's roof.
The tree remains where it fell. From the road outside the home, it looks as if the massive tree crashed through the front left corner of the house and ran nearly the width of the house. Police said all three floors are damaged and appear to be structurally impacted. The tree's massive root ball is exposed and gives a sense of how enormous us and powerful this tree was when it came crashing down.
Neighbors who lived across the street from the family said they heard trees 'cracking' and branches crashing onto their roof but had no idea the severity until they heard sirens and saw police and firefighters.
