BOULDER, Colo. — The BOLDERBoulder has solidified its position as a premier running event, ranking as the fourth largest in the country, according to Running USA. The organization, which serves as the leading trade association for the road race industry, recently unveiled its list of the 100 largest road race s in the United States for 2024. The BOLDERBoulder ascended two spots from its 2023 ranking, a testament to its enduring popularity and growing participant base.

In 2024, a remarkable 41,491 runners crossed the finish line at Folsom Field on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. This impressive figure represents an 18.3% surge compared to 2023, surpassing the number of finishers recorded in 2019, the last year before the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, this 18.3% growth was the most significant among the top ten races, underscoring the BOLDERBoulder's resurgence and its ability to attract runners from across the nation. The BOLDERBoulder now trails only three iconic races: the TCS New York City Marathon (56,859 participants), the Bank of America Chicago Marathon (52,072 participants), and the AJC Peachtree Road Race (43,345 participants), according to Running USA's comprehensive data.
