The Lions supremo vented on social media as he rued the video replay system's role for the contested opener.
Livingston chief executive Dave Black admits Rangers' hotly disputed opener against his side is tough to stomach as he took aim at VAR after his club were left aggrieved.
The Lions supremo vented on social media as he rued the video replay system not overturning Willie Collum's on-field decision to allow Abdallah Sima's opener. The visitors were adamant the winger had pushed Jamie Brandon to the Ibrox turf during the 4-0 Viaplay Cup quarter final win for Michael Beale's side. And Black raised his concerns with clubs paying for VAR while having to withstand what he believes was a blatant error by the match officials in the defeat against Rangers.
Posting on social media, Black said: "Going to places like Ibrox is hard enough as it is but it’s incredibly, incredibly difficult to take the fact that we also have to pay for the introduction of VAR into the game but still have to put up and shut up with this sort of error even yet." And Black's ire was echoed by pundits as Stephen Craigan was utterly certain that a foul should have been awarded to the visitors. He said: "I have to say everyone expected the whistle to go. It looked like the right hand of Sima had just given Jamie Brandon a nudge. I think that is a free-kick. He puts his hand on his back and shoves him. He is in control of play and he shoves him over. I don't think there is any doubt that Sima makes contract.
"I think even Sima thought the whistle was going to go. I think they have missed one. If a Livingston player is pushing a Rangers player I think that is a free-kick. It would be interesting to see what Willie Collum or Nick Walsh on VAR is thinking about."
