The Boerne Independent School District says it has raised the pay of most of its hourly employees and has instituted retention bonuses. The district’s board of trustees unanimously voted to increase the pay of hourly employees by $1.25 per hour. The raise does not apply to transportation staff, as the district said those employees received a pay increase in September.
Environmentalists raise concerns about 1,100-home Hill Country project Staff members that are not “substitutes, temporary employees and contract employees” are also getting a $300 “retention incentive,” the district said.District officials didn’t give total cost for the pay increases and retention bonuses. “We understand that our staff are the heart of our district, and their dedication to our students makes all the difference,” district Superintendent Kristin Craft said in a written statement.
