The City of Boerne will provide eight of the 12 officers, with the City of Fair Oaks Ranch and Kendall County providing two each, working with the Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch police departments, will add 12 law enforcement officers as school resource officers beginning in the 2022-23 school year.

The school district and its law enforcement partners are “working aggressively” toward putting a law enforcement officer on each campus to “strengthen safety and security measures at all Boerne ISD facilities,” according to. The school resource officers will be “responsible for safety and crime prevention in schools.”

The City of Boerne will provide eight of the 12 officers, with the City of Fair Oaks Ranch and Kendall County providing two each.

Benway said all 12 BISD schools will receive an officer, several of whom are part of the City of Boerne’s tactical response team.
