The Boerne City Council has given initial approval to a $138 million budget for the coming fiscal year, with a focus on capital projects for the fast-growing Hill Country city. Boerne;s budget for fiscal 2025 calls for almost $36 million in capital outlay spending, meaning larger infrastructure projects that take more than a year to complete.

Another $11 million from a bond measure approved by voters in 2022 will be spent on widening Adler Road, constructing parks and other mobility improvements. Boerne's population has grown rapidly in recent years, jumping from about 10,000 in 2010 to nearly 22,000, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
