Boeing machinists rally during their break outside the factory in Everett ahead of a vote for a new contract on Sept. 11, 2024. A vote on the deal is set for Thursday and while it is endorsed by leaders of the International Association of Machinists District 751, many of the members are threatening to reject the offer and go on strike.
The terms of the offer were finalized over the weekend. The contract, as presented, gives workers a 25% general wage increase for all employees over four years. The pay bump would translate into 33% over the life of the contract, according to the company. Additionally, workers would see lower health care costs, 12 weeks of paid parental leave and a bigger increase in what Boeing contributes to workers’ retirement plans.
