Newly released bodycam video from police in New Jersey shows the moment an explosion rocked a home that firefighters were working in. Five firefighters were injured.
Bodycam footage from law enforcement caught the moment a house exploded in Pompton Lakes, NJ. It is still unknown what caused the explosion. while firefighters were still inside.from the back of the house and the chaotic aftermath that ensued. The incident that injured five firefighters happened on Jan. 14.
Two firefighters from the Pompton Lakes Volunteer Fire Department received burns and were treated at a local hospital, while three others sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. "Within a couple minutes of their entrance, and while using a thermal imaging camera to locate the problem, the home literally exploded, injuring some members manning the hose line at the back of the home and partially trapping others in the basement," a spokesperson with the department explained.
