Bodycam footage shows the shootout between three New Orleans officers and the attacker who killed 14 people by ramming his truck into pedestrians on Bourbon Street on New Year's Day. The footage, released by the New Orleans Police Department, shows the officers with their guns drawn before the shooting erupts.

The New Orleans Police Department on Friday released body camera footage of the shootout between three officers and the attacker who rammed his truck into pedestrians on Bourbon Street in the early hours of New Year’s Day, killing 14 people. The roughly 10 seconds of footage shows two officers with their guns drawn in front of the open driver’s side door of a white pickup truck.

This week, Kirkpatrick announced that the department is bringing on William Bratton, who has been the top cop in Boston, New York and Los Angeles, to counsel the city on its security measures after the deadly attack. Bratton, 77, a veteran of more than 50 years in law enforcement, was brought on as a tactical expert on assessing security in the city after criticism about the security measures in place during the New Year's celebrations.
