A body has been recovered from Preston Docks by a police underwater search team.Officers were called to Britannia Drive in Ashton-on-Ribble at 2.37pm yesterday after being notified by the search team.
While the body has not been formally identified, officers believe it to be that of Stephen Walpole, 57, of Ashton-on-Ribble, who had been reported as missing and had last been seen on the evening of Monday 3 September.A Preston Police spokesperson said: “Mr Walpole’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very sad and distressing time.”Read more
