Body of missing 44-year-old woman found during search in Chambers County

Authorities in Chambers County say the body of a missing 44-year-old woman was found during a search Thursday.

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office said Elizabeth Nivans was last seen at approximately 7 p.m. on June 2, walking east on the Interstate 10 service road away from the Houston East RV Park.Surveillance video then showed Nivans walking south on Needlepoint Road towards Kilgore Parkway. The sheriff’s office said she left her RV without any of her belongings and has not been seen or heard from since.“Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division have spent many days examining digital forensic evidence and surveillance video to narrow down the last known location of Nivans, which was determined to be the 19500 block of Old Needlepoint Road,” the sheriff’s office said. “With this data, TEXSAR personnel developed a search area based on missing person trends known to them.
