The body of a Fairbanks man was found on Tuesday in Sitka according to the Alaska State Troopers.
Wildlife troopers and the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Juneau were contacted that a missing hunter was found near Lake Diana, which is southeast of Sitka. Using a Coast Guard helicopter, troopers recovered the body of 47-year-old Ryan Ruesch below a 300-foot-cliff.
Ruesch’s body was transported to Sitka, where paramedics pronounced him dead. His next of kin has been notified.
