SAD UPDATE: The body of one twin has been discovered in the search of 13-year-old brothers who were reported missing Sunday while on a trip with family at Pleasure Pier, according to officials.
Galveston Marine Rescue said they were notified that a body matching the description of one of the teens was found at 28th and Seawall just before 2 a.m. The search is ongoing along the shoreline to find the second teen, officials said.Authorities said the brothers, Jefferson and Josue Perez, were last seen on the west side of the pier at 4:30 p.m.
Family members called police around 5:30 p.m. after the boys disappeared but said that no one saw them go underwater. The Coast Guard and Galveston Island Beach Patrol responded, along with police, fire, and EMS, and searched the area.
