The grim discovery was made on Monday morning in a wooded area between the Edinburgh City Bypass and Edinburgh Park.

Police were made aware of the tragic found at around 10am on Monday morning. Officers and forensic staff were seen by the scene near Edinburgh Park.A local resident told Edinburgh Live they saw "police everywhere".

They added: "Looks like a serious crime near the roundabout at Gogar Roundabout. Police and CID surrounding trees and shrubland area." Top news stories today A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were made aware of a body found in a wooded area between the Edinburgh City Bypass and Edinburgh Park area around 10am on Monday, 25 September, 2023.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
