Police confirmed the tragic discovery was made during searches for the 37-year-old.

Daniel, 37, was reported missing on from the Dukes Road area in Rutherglen and was last seen at around 10.40pm on September 3.

A search was launched, with police appealing for anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. A statement from Police Scotland reads: "A body has been found in Glasgow during searches for Daniel Rooney, 37, who had been reported missing from Rutherglen."There are no apparent suspicious circumstances."
