A man's body was discovered at Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historic Park in Maryland on New Year's Day. Authorities are investigating the death, which has been linked to a previous investigation involving the deceased.
A man's body was found at Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historic Park in Williamsport, Maryland on New Year's Day. The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call and is investigating the death. The deceased has been identified as Jason Weiss, who was previously the Chief of Schools in Jefferson County , Colorado. He was fired in December after the sheriff's office began investigating him.
The cause and manner of death will be determined after an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, which can take up to 90 days. The investigation into Weiss' death and the previous investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will continue
