San Francisco police released body camera footage of the fatal shooting of a Dior security guard who had run over pedestrians and pointed a gun at officers. The suspect, Peter Francis Hodge Jr., was known to law enforcement and had been involved in a hit-and-run incident earlier that day.

At a town hall meeting on Monday, San Francisco police officials showed body camera footage of what preceded the deadly police shooting of a Dior security guard who had run over several people and pointed a gun at officers.Authorities said the suspect, 50-year-old Peter Francis Hodge Jr., was known to many in law enforcement. He was a security guard for luxury stores in Union Square and, at the time of his death, had been assigned to the Dior store on Grant Street.

Officers said Hodge was armed when the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 20, and they warned him repeatedly before opening fire, ultimately killing him.Acting police commander Mark Im said, 'Hodge raised his right hand with the firearm in it as he pivoted toward the officers. After striking Hodge, they immediately began rendering aid, but he was pronounced dead at the hospita
