Bobby Motaung remembers Alex Shakoane's days with Kaizer Chiefs
“I grew up under Bra Alex and enjoyed his love. Alex is from Kaizer Chiefs. The reason he and Sundowns had this charisma, they took it from Chiefs,” Motaung told the mourners during Shakoane's memorial service in Mameldoi township in Pretoria on Thursday. When Alex started working at Chiefs, I was fortunate to be there. Alex used to take me to school. I was born in 1970 for those who don’t know. I’m the same age as Chiefs. The culture of [Alex's] charisma and style is from Kaizer Chiefs.
He was a colourful, larger than life figure who contributed greatly to South African football and he will be sadly missed.
