BMW is set to unveil the M3 CS Touring, a high-performance wagon promising even more power and capability than its already impressive M3 Touring sibling. The M3 CS Touring will be equipped with a 543-hp twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, a host of aerodynamic and visual upgrades, and a lightweight titanium exhaust. However, US buyers will be disappointed to learn that the M3 CS Touring will not be available in their market.
For years, the Audi RS6 Avant has been considered the ultimate family car, combining powerful performance with impressive versatility. Now, the BMW M3 Touring is stepping up its game, and soon, it'll become even more desirable with the launch of a more powerful CS version. BMW 's M division has been testing the M3 CS Touring for over a year and has started teasing the car online, indicating a global launch is imminent.
Several images and videos of a prototype testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife have surfaced, suggesting a performance level that rivals, if not surpasses, the RS6. The current M3 Touring is already a beast, but the CS will be even more exhilarating. It's expected to feature the same amped-up 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine as the M3 CS sedan, delivering 543 hp, a significant boost from the 503 hp of the standard model. Torque is expected to remain unchanged at 479 lb-ft (649 Nm), channeled to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Visual and aerodynamic upgrades will be prominent, mirroring those of the M3 CS sedan. The front end will boast a more pronounced splitter and a new bumper with sharper air intakes. The front grille also receives a distinct update. Other enhancements are anticipated, including suspension geometry tweaks and a lightweight titanium exhaust. However, there's a catch. The M3 CS Touring will not be sold in the United States. While disappointing, BMW Product Management Vice President Andreas Meyer hinted last summer that the next-generation M3 Touring might make its way to America. However, the company's decision ultimately hinges on the reception of the M5 Touring in the US market
