Breaking down the 2025 BMW Championship odds board at Caves Valley Golf Club from August 14-17, with analysis on the field, favorites, and more.
Scottie Scheffler didn't win at TPC Southwind, but he was close, and he enters the 2025 BMW Championship as the overwhelming betting favorite at around +240. The only other golfer shorter than 10/1 is Rory McIlroy.
The 2025 BMW Championship returns to Caves Valley for the first time since 2021, and Scottie Scheffler is unsurprisingly favored., the field, and the overall PGA landscape ahead of the season's second playoff event, being held from Thursday, August 14, through Sunday, August 17.Justin Rose emerged victorious over J.J. Spaun in a playoff to claim the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind over the weekend, narrowly edging out Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood, who tied for third. Scheffler's inherent ability to be in the thick of the hunt even when he doesn't win has him as the clear betting favorite. At +240, though, there may not be a lot of value betting on him to win outright, considering the risk. He also hasn't won this tournament...yet. His best finish was a T2 in 23, when he and Matt Fitzpatrick finished two strokes behind winner Viktor Hovland at Olympia Fields. When the BMW Championship was last held at Caves Valley in Owings Mills in 2021, Scheffler finished T22 as Patrick Cantlay outlasted Bryson DeChambeau in a playoff. Cantlay is a two-time BMW Championship winner, going back-to-back in 2021 and 2022. Having had some success already at Caves Valley, he may be a solid alternative to Scheffler. The 33-year-old is in a bit shaky form, though. Before his T9 finish at TPC Southwind last weekend, he missed the cut at The Open Championship and had a T32 at the Rocket Classic.Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy re-enters the field for the first time since a T7 at The Open. McIlroy has rattled off three straight Top 10s, and other than a T47 at the PGA Championship and a missed cut at the RBC Canadian Open, 2025 has been a fantastic year for Rory.
