Blumhouse executive Jason Blum jokingly poses amusing horror crossovers between M3GAN and Halloween and Five Nights at Freddy's.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Blumhouse executive jokes about wild horror crossover opportunities between M3GAN and other horror films. Founded in 2000, Blumhouse is the production studio behind copious modern horror classics, including Sinister, Get Out, and The Black Phone. This year, the studio produced M3GAN, a campy AI-based horror that became an early 2023 hit.
Why These Hypothetical M3GAN Crossovers Would Be Great While a M3GAN crossover film is not actually on slate, pitting the porcelain robot against a classic horror villain would be a wild ride. The upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s film could be a particularly ripe opportunity for this crossover, given both film’s monsters take the form of toy-like figures turned sentient.
Perhaps even more hysterical to imagine is the imagined crossover between M3GAN and Halloween. Halloween takes itself much more seriously than M3GAN, with the latter film blending moments of bloodiness with moments of out-of-pocket dark comedy. If M3GAN and Michael Myers were to go into battle, it would be a faceoff between a knife-wielding, silent, killer and a boisterous, eerie robot who risks breaking out into David Guetta’s “Titanium” mid-combat.
M3GAN vs. Five Nights at Freddy’s and M3GAN vs. Halloween are only a fantasy, but that doesn’t mean that the M3GAN universe is necessarily over. Since its successful theatrical run this past winter, M3GAN 2 has been rumored. While Blumhouse has not confirmed the development of M3GAN 2, executive producer Ryan Turek recently stated that “there are some gears turning on M3GAN 2.” Updates like this are a good sign for audiences who fell in love with M3GAN earlier this year.
