Shido Ryusei angry and muzzled talking to Sae Itoshi in Blue Lock

Blue Lock's anime has just announced the lineup for the rapidly approaching U-20 match in the fifth episode, released on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this information for months, and Blue Lock Project leader, Jinpachi Ego, finally listed the eleven names of the players that will make up the Blue Lock XI. Some of Ego's picks were more shocking than others, but the leader has a well-thought-out plan to ensure a win so the Blue Lock Project can continue.

The main reason is that he was actually chosen to play in Japan's U-20 team, shockingly enough. Sae Itoshi, Rin's extremely successful older brother who plays professional soccer, told the leaders of the U-20 team that he would only play in the upcoming match if he could have Shido Ryusei as his partner.
