MLB odds, predictions, and picks for Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees on September 21. MLB free pick for Blue Jays-Yankees.
Along with taking the Under on 7.5 runs, we’ll also look for the Yankees to have another relatively quiet night at the plate as part of tonight’s same-game parlay. New York has averaged just over six hits per game across its last three contests so it’s not like the Yankees have really been knocking on the door. They’ve scored 69 runs in 18 games this month, ranking fourth-worst in the majors over that span.
We’ll wrap up the parlay by banking on Bichette to pick up another RBI. The Blue Jays shortstop started September pretty cold, with just four hits and two RBI across his first seven games, though he’s picked it up of late. Bichette has driven in two runs in back-to-back games and has posted five RBI over his last four contests.Looking to bet on some Jays action? Toronto has been playing a solid all-around game since dropping four straight to Texas last week, outscoring opponents 23-7 over the last five contests. A big part of the Jays’ success has been starting pitching, and there’s no reason why Berrios, who’s carrying a 1.80 ERA across three starts this month, can’t pitch another gem against a stagnant Yankees offense.
Tonight’s total opened at 7.5 runs and, as discussed, I am definitely siding with the Under as this matchup is shaping up as a potential pitcher’s duel. Cole is always competitive, and you know he’ll come out with his best stuff to try and avoid the sweep, but New York’s offense has been so bad that it’s hard to imagine the Yankees running away with it. The clubs have also tended to play lower-scoring games against each other this season with the Under going 3-0-1 over the last four meetings and 6-2-1 over the last nine.
